Spiritual Direction

One of my favorite Bible stories as a child was the story of Zacchaeus,the little man who climbed up in a sycamore tree to see Jesus coming down the road. I loved the song and all the gestures that went with it. I used to imagine myself up in that tree where I could look at what was happening below. As an adult,I remind myself that I still need to put myself in that tree searching the road of life for the Presence of Christ.
As we rise in the morning and begin our day,we give energy and time to families and jobs and friends. By the time evening comes,we are tired and realize we have forgotten to look for Christ throughout the day.
Find us,Jesus. See us in that sycamore tree. Call us by name. Invite yourself to our house for dinner tonight.
