The Rt. Rev. Thomas Ely was elected on the first ballot in both the Lay and Clergy Orders during the Special Convention (virtual) on February 6, 2021. His name was placed in Nomination by the Standing Committee following the recommendation of the Diocesan Interview Committee and the direction provided by the October 2020 Diocesan Convention (virtual) which endorsed the recommendations of the Diocesan Council/Standing Committee which were endorsing the Report of the Diocesan Discernment Task Force.
